BIB101-The Pentateuch

3 credits

The student will read through Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy at a rate of about two chapters per day. He will discover, record, and share his insights from each chapter. The background and theme of each book are studied, and major biblical themes are traced. The student is exposed to proper principles of biblical interpretation and is required to work with them. The revelation of the Holy Spirit as the Author of the Scriptures is central throughout.

EVA215-Personal Evangelism

3 credits

This course is a study of practical approaches to personal evangelism. It includes learning how to initiate the conversation with someone, present the Gospel to him, and lead him to Christ, if he is ready. It includes spending thirty hours in actual, practical, personal evangelism. (Option #1:Lead someone to Christ and disciple him or her for six months-receive 1 additional credit; Option #2: Train another soul winner-receive 1 additional credit.)

INT201-Introduction to Intercession

3 credits

This course introduces you into the Life of Intercession. Subjects include: the task of intercession, pleading your case, identification in intercession and prophetic intercession. This course is a pre-requisite to any other course in this school. Fundamental to this course are core principles that the Holy Spirit is the Intercessor, and we become intercession as we join in intimate fellowship with the Lord.

LEA303-Developing the Leader Within You

3 credits

This course is designed to help you develop the attitudes, skills and character traits you will need to become the leader God has called you to be. You may need to establish new

patterns of thought and action, and break old habits that have been keeping you back. If you truly devote yourself to the requirements of this course, you will be a more effective and successful leader at the end of it.

REN207 Healing Anointing

3 credits

The ministry of Jesus was and is a ministry of salvation for the whole person! When we speak of salvation, we speak not only of forgiveness of sins but also healing, deliverance, cleansing and everything else that pertains to life and godliness. Jesus has come to set the captives free! And because he has poured out His Spirit upon us, we may be ministers of salvation-healing of the spirit, soul and body-through the anointing that rests upon us. This practical course will give you the keys to flowing in that anointing of God, lessons which have been learned by those who have gone before you and are now showing the way.

The Code provided for the institution to establish a category of student information termed “directory information.”  When available in college records, any information falling in the category of “directory information will be available to all persons on request, i.e., the IRS, FBI, or other government agencies, and for use in T.L.I. publications.

            T.L.I. has identified the following student data as “directory information”:

1. Name, street address, city, state, zip code, telephone listing, race
2. date and place of birth, field of study, church membership
3. denominational affiliation, dates of attendance
4. degrees and awards received and most-recent previous educational

institutional attended

            All other information, such as health and medical records, disciplinary records, records of personal counseling, required student and family financial income, transcripts or student permanent academic records, student placement records and other personally identifiable information shall be open for inspection only to the student and such members of the professional staff of the college as have responsibility for working with the student.

            Except as required for use by the President in the discharge of his official responsibilities as prescribed by laws, regulations of the state board, and board policies, the designated custodian of such records may release information from these records to others only upon authorization in writing from the student or upon subpoena by a court of competent jurisdiction.

2.   Practica are required to give the student opportunity to work out what they are learning on the anvils of real life, in order to discover how to integrate knowledge. Taken throughout your educational process, these will help you gain a variety of experiences in many areas.

3. Little real-life learning is acquired without real-life experience; therefore, practica are

critically important to the overall learning process.

4. Our courses are designed to be completed within a 12-week term or a quarter.

Accreditation is the act of certifying that an educational institution maintains suitable standards; it is the granting of approval to an institution of learning by an official review board after the school has met certain requirements.  Specifically accreditation is the review of a school’s course offerings and procedures by a group of its peers to certify that the school is meeting its own stated objectives and offering its students the education it promises them.

CLU’s Accreditation Christian Leadership University is accredited by the Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC), overseen by Dr. Paul Richardson. The following statement has been approved: “We [Christian Leadership University] are fully accredited by the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC). Anyone wishing to contact them for verification may write to: The WWAC, Dr. Paul Richardson, Executive President, 2800 Blendwell Rd., Richmond, VA 23224.”

Christian Leadership University is also certified by the Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability (ACEA). Dr. C. Peter Wagner, head of the Wagner Institute for Practical Ministry, formed this group as an alternative to traditional accreditation for the new apostolic churches that are emerging (www.acea-schools.org).

Both WWAC and ACEA provide evaluation and accountability without distorting the purpose and vision of Christian Leadership University.

In addition, CLU believes that the Spirit-empowered ministries that develop in your life accredit its discipling experience.

“You are our letter, written in our hearts,

known and read by all men; being manifested

that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us,

written not with ink, but with the

Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone,

but on tablets of human hearts” 

(2 Corinthians 3:2,3).

As you become effective in the release of divine power through your life, people will take notice and naturally give place for you and your ministry (Prov. 22:29).  This is exactly what happened with Jesus.  He had no accredited degrees, but the power that flowed through His hands caused multitudes to come to Him.  Your Spirit-anointed ministry is what accredits our program and opens the doors before you for a continually expanding impact on His world.

Government Accreditation

The Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions and the Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability are not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Accreditation is a “review by your peers” that ensures that you are offering a quality program.  CLU has received that.  CLU’s peers are other Spirit-filled Christian educators, such as C. Peter Wagner’s Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability and the Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions.  The U.S. Department of Education is not a peer of Christian Leadership University.

Government-recognized accreditation is not necessary for the religious vocations we are training people in, which include:  Biblical Studies, Christian Arts, Christian Counseling, Christian Entrepreneurship, Christian Leadership, Divine Healing, Divinity, Intercession, ministry, Missions and Evangelism, Prophetic Ministry, Theology, Worship Ministry, and Youth ministry.  People can function and hold jobs in all of these areas without government-recognized accreditation.

Individuals seeking employment in government-licensed positions such as public school teachers, state-licensed psychologists or psychiatrists, and non-church-related counselors definitely need government-recognized accredited degrees.

Generally, people working in ministry positions do not need a government-accredited degree.  In fact, a number of churches take a stand against the Church voluntarily placing itself under government regulations.

The Christian degree programs of The Leaders’ Institute are designed to equip students to follow the Lord in the work of the ministry, to offer a systematic vehicle to mature believers, and provide a means for students to obtain degrees recognized by most churches, ministry institutions, and ministry organizations.

The types of certificates and degrees offered are the following:

Certificate

To earn a certificate, a student must complete 30 credit hours or 10 courses in a major area of concentration.

Associate’s Degree

An Associate’s Degree is awarded to a student who successfully completes 60 credit hours or 20 three-hour courses.

Bachelor’s Degree

A Bachelor’s Degree is awarded to a student who successfully completes 120 credit hours or 40 three-hour courses.

Master’s Degree

A Master’s Degree is awarded to a student who successfully completes a minimum of 36 credit hours above the Bachelor’s Degree program for college credit. Formal teaching, ministry and life experiences may qualify a student for additional credits.

Doctoral Degree

A Doctoral Degree is generally awarded to a student who completes 45-credit hours above the Master’s Degree program for college credit.  Formal teaching, ministry and life experiences may qualify a student for additional credits.

ALL STUDENTS SHOULD SCHEDULE AN ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT SESSION BEFORE DECIDING ON A PARTICULAR DEGREE PROGRAM AND MAJOR AREA OF CONCENTRATION.

All students are advised to register first for the required courses and those numbered at the 100 and 200 levels. 

How quickly one matriculates through a particular program of study depends on several factors :

• Availability of instructors
• Student demand for particular courses
• Enrollment

Courses are scheduled based on the availability of  instructors, the classes most needed by the greatest number of students at the time, and student interests.

Students will always have a variety of required courses scheduled throughout the year.  We will repeat the courses at least twice during the year. Again, this scheduling depends upon the above-mentioned criteria.

We will make effort to offer as many courses as possible so that you, the student, will be able to complete all coursework and graduate with your degree as soon as possible.

While students may want to register for the courses they like most first, students who are pursuing degrees should concentrate more on registering for the required courses first and believe that (if the material seems especially difficult) they will embrace it more as they progress. Such a method will ensure the best use of your time and provide a level of comfort as you pursue your degree.

STEP 1:

STEP 2:

Request your transcript from your high school or the institution where you completed the highest level of education. You may have the transcript sent to The Leaders’ Institute, Pastor Pat Chambers, Dean Miracle Place Church, 2080 Main, Baker, LA  70714.

STEP 3:

Request an Application Packet from The Leaders’ Institute Office, next to Kingdom Kids, at the MPC campus.  The packet will not be accepted unless all paperwork is completed.  Submit the Admissions Application, along with your Statement of Faith (salvation experience), a $20 Application Fee, and the Fee Form to Lori Hart or Kathy Galloway at the Church Office.

Your Statement of Faith (Salvation Experience) describes your life before Christ, your salvation experience, and spiritual development (walk) after making Christ your Lord and Savior. If this request does not apply to you, please write a short paper describing where you are right now spiritually. We want to get to know a little about who you are. Your information is confidential.

STEP 4:

Using a Fee Form, circle the classes you are enrolling in and paying for at this time.

If you are auditing a class, the cost is $30 plus the textbooks.  To audit a course means that you attend classes but are not required to complete all the assignments nor take all the tests as regular students.

Tuition is most reasonable, $60 per three hour credit course.  Most comparable Bible college are much more expensive.  Almost all of the courses are three-hour credits. This means if you need 30 credit hours to earn a certificate, you need to enroll in 10 classes which meet for three hours per week. We operate on a term or quarter system (12 weeks) rather than a semester system (15 weeks).

Calculate the tuition plus cost of the textbooks required for each course.  Total everything and submit this form with your payment to the Church Office; submit the other to The Leaders’ Institute Office.

Application Fee ($20 for first time students) + Tuition +Books=GRAND TOTAL

The institute will make every effort to apprise students and the general public of special events and deadlines by calling students, e-mailing, posting announcements in church bulletins, text messaging, and using public service announcements in the local media. 

A $15.00 late fee will be assessed each student who does not meet the final tuition payment deadline.
